Geacril® is not a plastic material but a high quality solid composite of natural minerals and polymer binders, which give it excellent longlasting chemical-physical resistance, making it completely waterproof and hygienic for everyday use.
To remove most stains, limescale and dirt that is normally deposited on surfaces, just clean them with soapy water or standard non-abrasive detergents using a non-abrasive sponge or a cotton cloth, making sure you rinse the surface well.
How to prevent damage
Avoid using abrasive detergents and abrasive sponges for cleaning. Avoid placing hot objects on the surface. It is unadvisable to use aggressive chemical products such as acetone, trichloroethylene, strong acids or bases. Some substances such as ink, cosmetics and dyes may leave colour on the surface if left in close contact with this material. Do not place lit cigarettes on the surface, and do not cut directly on the surface.
How to fix any damage
Deep scratches, minor nicks and stubborn stains can often be treated with simple maintenance. If the Geacril® coating has been damaged throughout its thickness, specialized personnel can be contacted who will simply sand it with extremely fine sandpaper (800-1000 grain) until the surface is completely uniform. To restore its original lustre, use high-lustre polishing paste or polish (suitable products are those used for polishing car bodywork), following the manufacturer’s instructions.
